starts playing Cello at the age of six
1977-83 student at the Spezialschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin, Tim  Vogler is his classmate
studies with Joseph Schwab since 1979

1983 2nd Prize at the International Competition in Markneukirchen
Teacher for Cello and chamber music at "Hanns Eisler" Berlin since 1992
1999 Professor for cello at the "Hanns Eisler"
